Sonora Kung Fu San Soo only charges a very low flat monthly fee. If you take advantage of the entire school schedule, it comes out to about $1.25 an hour to learn from three masters with a combined experience in 2006 of more than 60 years of training! Other combined black belt experience exceeds an additional 30 years. No matter how you look at it, it’s a pretty darn good deal.

This Sonora school of Kung Fu San Soo is for the student and for the honor of the art itself and all who have gone before. Since Master Rusty Wallace founded the school, he never advertised, and has often carried the cost of the school, and on occasion, even carried students, from his own pocket. It's long been his outlook that if a person winds up in the Sonora Kung Fu San Soo School, it's that person's destiny.

New and prospective students are welcome at any class. One point to consider however, is that this is a small school of individuals that are deeply dedicated to the art of Tsoi Li Ho Fut Hung, almost like a family. It's been intentionally kept small through informal Wu-De, and held to trusted individuals that have a true interest in the art. So there really are no scheduled 'beginners classes'. If a new student really has an interest, he or she will be personally introduced to the fundamentals and trained by one or more higher belts working directly under one or more masters. It's extremely rare that there isn't at least one master present during school hours.

Simply put, everyone will jump in and 'adopt' the new student into the family, passing him around, providing almost private instruction by higher belts during group classes. He'll be given the opportunity to learn very, very fast from a number of teachers that have dedicated a large part of their lives to this art.

The Sonora school masters feel that as it was in antiquity in China, it's a priveledge to learn this art, not a consumer right that can be purchased like a new suit of clothes. On the other hand, those with an interest are always welcome, and for those who stay and learn this art, it becomes ingrained in their very being, something of extremely high value, something that can never, ever, be taken away.
